Hot Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa is Sanskrit for “flow.” These classes are all encompassing, combining ancient and modern techniques. During Vinyasa, we are "flowing" from pose to pose and, more importantly, from breath to breath. Through a mindful application of technique and integrity, we bring awareness into every step, and we accentuate the physicality with every breath. Emphasis is placed on how we feel in the pose (Asana), rather than how we look. You will experience various styles of deep breathing (Pranayama) to warm and prepare the body for the poses, as well as flowing and holding techniques, inversions, arm balances and back bends. At the end of every class, a well-deserved deep Savasana (dead body pose) encourages release, relaxation and the benefits of the sequencing. The room is heated to 90º F to promote detoxification, purification, weight loss and an ultimate sense of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual revitalization. Open to students at all levels.

Types of Classes

Para Yoga

Para Yoga is a multi-level class designed to increase your flexibility, strength and energy, while helping you find stability (sthira), ease (sukha) and aspiration (Tantra) to expand beyond your limits. These classes use posture flows, as well as longer-held poses, breath work, visualization, deep relaxation and meditation to tone the organs, relax the nervous system, quiet the mind and bring integration of body, mind and spirit.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a series of asanas designed to target the connective tissues of the body (bones, joints, ligaments, fascia) and balance the meridian energies of the body by relieving stagnation and stress and increasing energy where it is depleted.  It is deeply meditative and incorporates Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy.  Poses are held for longer periods of time (2-10minutes) to target the connective tissue as well as to promote stillness
and deep enveloping of the breath.  This is is truly an awareness practice.  This practice is not hot and lit by candlelight, a heavenly experience. This is a multi-level class.

Dharma Vinyasa

This class is a gentle yet powerful meditative series of balancing, stretching, back bending, twisting and inverted postures created by Sri Dharma Mittra.  It warms up the body, brings flexibility to all muscles and joints, and wakes up the nervous system.  Dharma Vinyassa reintegrates the flow of prana through the spinal column and emanates deep into all areas of the physical, metabolic, intuitive, and blissed body  thus promoting harmony within all these layers. The highest crowning meditative asanas, pranayama, and yoga nidra, which are embedded in the deep roots of Dharma Mittra's teachings.

Dharma Vinyasa/Hatha Yoga

This class combines various approaches within hatha yoga and interweaves asana, pranayama, philosophy and meditation. The focus of the class varies in order to enrich students' perspective of the practice.  On the first few weeks Matan will focus on the foundation of yoga. That will be a great opportunity for students to expand their understanding of the yoga practice. Class taught Mondays only.

Sunrise Yoga

Feel the exhilaration of the day begin with an early morning asana practice with Tobie. This series will cover backbending, forwardbending, twisting, core work, hip opening and inversions. We will investigate and observe how each category of poses energizes and opens our bodies before we start our busy day.
